Dragon V2 capsule performs pad abort test

In an important test for future astronauts, the SpaceX Dragon crew capsule that will eventually return people to
space from US soil is fired away from Pad 40 in an emergency escape pad abort test. The vehicle went from 0 to 100
mph in just 1.2 seconds, reached 375 mph and 4000 feet altitude and parachuted into the ocean less than a mile offshore.
