Falcon 9 launches Korean Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter

Falcon 9 launches the Korean Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) "Danuri" to the moon. This launch was the second one from Cape Canaveral on

August 4, marking the first time since Gemini 12 in 1966 that two orbital space launches took place the same calendar day here, and the first

within 24 hours of each other since 1967 (not counting missile tests). The launch was also the 34th space launch from the Cape this year, also setting a new

record for the most space-purposed launches, of which the previous record of 33 also took place in 1966.
