Back to STS-134 photos

Inside the Payload Changeout Room (PCR) of the Rotating Service Structure on Pad 39A, the $2 billion, 14,000 pound European-built Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer is ready to be installed into the payload bay of Endeavour. The tall, narrow cleanroom facility accepts the payload from the payload canister it is transported to the pad in, and then places it into the open payload bay of the shuttle. Above the AMS is the Express Logistics Carrier, a cargo-rack that will transport supplies including an ammonia tank to the ISS with Endeavour.
